If he is The One…
If He is The One for me, he would wait for me
It's terrifying, as the biological clock ticks towards the big 30 and your friends seem to get hitched one after another. However, if you are going to rush into a marriage just because you want a status, trust me, this marriage aren't going to last very long. A great guy wouldn't rush you into anything instead he would wait for you patiently to make up your mind. Same goes to you, you wouldn't hold a gun to a guy's head to force him to kneel on one knee, would you?
If He is The One for me, he would love my friends
This is so true. You are who you are because of your experiences and your growing up, and a big part of you growing up is your friends. They represent a different side of you. He doesn't have to be chummy chummy with your friends or become BFF with your best friend, he just have to be comfortable with them, enough to enjoy the occasional outings together with you girls. Or even accepting that you hang out with your guy pals without him.
If He is The One for me, he would love my family
You might be estranged from your family but he would be the one willing to bridge the gap. He would be the one reminding you to send out your Christmas cards. He would be the one, driving you for 3 hours because you are too nervous to drive so that you get to see the birth of your nephew.
If He is The One for me, he would love me for who I am
He would laugh at my morning face, poke fun of my grumpy moods, bring me a hot chocolate when I'm down with cramps (it hurts!) and even go along with me to the quirky store down the street to try on different wigs…just for fun. He would appreciate when I am all glam up but prefers me to be in tees and sweatpants. He would go wow at the hairdo that I painfully copied from YouTube 57 times but prefers that I go with a simple ponytail.
If He is The One for me, he would listen
And not judge. And read between the lines. He would be able to tell the difference between "I need a solution now" and "I'm just whining". He would be able to nod at the right time, ask a question to allow me to expand more into my complaints. He would side with me even though he knows I know I am in the wrong. He would gently steer me away from my frowns and distract me with jokes and laughter.
If He is The One for me, he would respect me
He would take my no as a no and not a maybe. He would allow me to pursue anything I deem important and not scoff at my miserable salary. He would celebrate my poor attempt at crafts and support my sudden craving of learning photography.
If He is the One for me, I would know. I would feel it in my guts, my heart and in my mind that he is the one for me.
