Closing towards the wedding date, I still have not source for my make up artist. My cousin suggested an ex-college classmate who opened her own make up artistic company who had won awards in the past and done several make up for Hong Kong and Chinese stars.
I did met up with her and my cousin over tea and she reassured me that her fees will be low, given that I am related to my cousin. Kyan mentioned she will also take care of my hair styling that day. She has a team of entourage that follows her wherever she goes so there will be enough people around to assist me.
She did however want me to provide her with the make up and hairstyle that I would like on my wedding day. I did what she instructed and browse through bridal magazine online on my mobile whenever I have time.

I quickly realized all those pictures that I kept as a reference are all natural looking and I just want to be that way without having too much make up on me. I don't want not to look like me on that day. Eric might not recognise me! Lol!
A little emphasis on the eyes, a light coloured shade of pink (definitely no browns - browns make me look very dull especially when I am not tanned) and only a slight touch of blusher.
And I realised I need to lose some baby fats around my chin! Anyone could advice me on that?
I messaged the pictures of the make up I had in mind to Kyan and she seems very pleased and reminded me I still have hairstyles to send over. So another round of frantic research ensued as I look over bridal magazines of what kind of hairstyle suits me better.
Once the pictures are sent over, Kyan quickly made an appointment for trial make up and hairstyle session a week before the big day so our expectations are be aligned. I like that she is very professional and courteous, never once say I am ridiculous or demanding.

Above are the pictures I sent to Kyan and some of the hairstyle, after touching my hair are not suitable for me because of the thickness of my hair and considerations that it is an outdoor wedding needs to be taken, the hair style must be able to withstand humid, sweat and wind yet too much hair product on the hair will cause the hair to be damaged and stiff unnatural looking on my wedding.

In the end, after discussion during the trial, we both decided to go with this. Simply yet secure and not too much designs to cause the hair to weight heavily on the head.
I put on a cool face in front of my parents especially when relatives and their friends came around our house to have dinner and the conversation will evolved around my wedding preparations.
My father seems to have quietly accepted his fate that his only daughter is going to be married away but he didn’t say much to me at all. My mother, in fact has expressed both of their wishes for me to continue to live with them after we are married.
I don’t think Eric would like that and especially his career is in Beijing but when I told my mother that, she got pretty upset. I tried to talk to my husband as well and he was actually to my surprise, quite willing to compromise. He does not want to live under the same roof as his in laws but he is contemplating to move to Chongqing to live with me. He mentioned he has submitted a request with his company to transfer him here however; the hopes are not high as the office is pretty small and the transfer will definitely create a lot of hassle for his department and hinder his career growth.
Despite all these problems, Eric still wants to go through the marriage and he says it will only make u grow stronger.
Putting on a brave face, my girlfriends have arrange a manicure / pedicure party for me to enjoy my last single moments with them. I’m sharing those moments with you all below.

To me, Eric made a great big first step for me. Previously, I was very frustrated that we hadn’t discussed about whether I will be moving to Beijing with him or he moves here to be with me. I mean I know a man’s career is very important to him and as his wife, I should follow him however; I have my whole life here with my family and my friends.
Going to Beijing means I will be all alone there without my friends and I would have to start all over again. When my husband said he has applied to transfer over to Chongqing, I know I shouldn’t be so selfish and to only think about myself. I know if the transfer is not successful, I am not going to ask him to leave his job instead; I’ll go over to Beijing.
At least, I have to try for our marriage.
To reward my husband’s sacrifice, I decided to go shopping to buy something to surprise him on our wedding day. Something to say I will stand by him. I think giving him a watch would be good because it represent we will endure time, our love will last through time.

This is the one I gotten for my husband because it is a combine of all the good features above. I really hope he likes it!
Most of the things have been planned and my make up artist have called up and confirmed the timing of her arrival, the vendor has assured us everything is on track. Eric is packing in Beijing with his air ticket bought and ready to arrive on two days before the wedding. While using this time, both of us started to plan our future together.
After the marriage, we will move to Beijing until his transfer is approved. He just had a long talk with his manager and his chances are high for this transfer without any dip in his salary and that is good news for us.
But before the news can be confirmed, it is better for him to remain in Beijing and meanwhile, my cousin has promised to help us to locate an apartment in Chongqing upon his transfer is approved, we will move back. Eric said it is for me to take a break in Beijing and also to meet his friends and colleagues over there.
I am definitely excited about starting a new life. Because of his transfer, we decided to delay our honeymoon but that does not mean we couldn’t start to plan earlier. To Eric’s understanding that all transfer employees in his company will get a two weeks break to settle in and we planed to use one of the week for our honeymoon. Because I don’t travel often, my husband asked me to pick out a place I would like to go.
I decided that beach holiday is not really for us because we already went to Sanya during our photoshoot. I always wanted to go to Taiwan and Eric have not been to Taiwan hence that is our honeymoon destination, we will hop off to Taiwan for 4 days and scoot off to Hong Kong for another 3 days before traveling to Shenzhen and back to Beijing.
I’m so looking forward to that break, I can’t wait until the wedding is over!

On my wedding day is a significant moment for me. On one hand, I am no longer single and I am leaving the nest for good. I may be pampered and loved in a lot of ways by my doting mother and father but now I think I am ready to spread my wings.
On the other hand, I am stepping into the world as a Mrs, ready to become someone’s wife and walked down my entire life dedicated to a single man whom will bring me unlimited of happiness.
The day started out with all my bridesmaids and my cousins waking up in my room, haha, yes they stayed overnight at my home to help to calm my nerves. The night before I was so distracted, I did not have time to worry about anything else. Big love to my girls! Then I had my breakfast delivered to me by my mother, she prepared longevity noodles with a lot of vegetables that means long life, good health and everlasting youth. I also had a bowl of bird nest soup as well as almond lotus pudding. Love you, mother. You can catch a photo below on how my mother can’t bear the thought of me growing up!
Eric almost unable to make it for the wedding because his flight got delayed due to technical issue, immediately he sprung into action and brought the next flight out with another airline.
My father, at last managed to put aside his grievances and gave Eric a hug when he arrive to pick me up and to go through the tea ceremony with my parents. The moment my father drank the tea from Eric’s, I literally sighed with relief. This means he has accepted Eric as his son-in-law and a part of his family.
The entire wedding went as smoothly as possible without much hiccups, most of the guests turned up and the food was commented to be good and tasty. I am so glad it is over the moment I took off my wedding gown so I can be alone with my new husband!
