I am really loving your posts especially the tips! :) I am helping out a very close friend in planning her wedding on November and K. by Cunanan is our top choice for the caterer. Though we haven't fully decided yet. I am learning new insights and I am excited to read more of your journey as you plan your wedding =)
By thew way, what's the name of your restaurant? I want to try it out one of these days :)
Oh hi! Sorry for the late reply, been busy with the restaurant! So glad to know you've chosen K by Cunanan, will be glad to help you and your friend with some tips in getting the most out of your money. Who is your friend's EA? ?
I've made mood boards for 4 different color schemes for the wedding. We are struggling a bit on which color palette to use, as all of them are beautiful. Since we were supposed to get married early next year we've originally planned on using Marsala. 2015's color of the year. We figured it still wouldn't be too mainstream here as that color is not that common with flowers that are readily available locally here on the Philippines. If we will use exquisitely colorful flowers it would have to be imported from somewhere else. But since we had to move the wedding date to late of the year, the color might be a little too mainstream for us. So we decided to open our options and we came up with four colors we love. Since this color is what we originally wanted. I'm going to show you some of the ideas we've gathered so far. Here is what our mood board consists of: MARSALA.
This is the invitation we had in mind. Since it will be a garden wedding, deep colored roses and marsala colored envelope would do the trick
Bridesmaids bouquets would be simple earth colored tones with a pop of marsala.
Table centerpieces would be wild arrangements of nude to cream colored flowers with dark green succulents or leaves and pops of marsala.
As for the bridesmaid dresses, i want this full marsala gown, but no long slit. Very clean but modern at the same time
Groomsmen will be wearing a marsala tie and boutonniere.
For the cake, a simple 2 layer white cake with fresh marsala colored flowers. Simple but elegant.
Here are some flowers that will be used. Most of which will have to be imported.
Even planning to do some marsala colored luminaries to hang by the trees or put in the pathway. To make the venue more romantic.
Now i'm starting to love this a lot. What do you think?
The second color we're looking at is black and white. Very classic, simple and elegant. It is very easy to use this as diys or materials and even flowers you will need are readily available locally.
Also, white apparently will be 2016's color of the year, so the wedding will still be up to date and still have the details that i want.
I'm also thinking of adding a few gold details as an accent, but this is still under consideration. I don't want to overwhelm the fiancé with too many details. :)
My fiancé likes this as well since it's a bit gender neutral.
It would be easy as well for the guests to find something to wear. And pictures taken with the guests wearing a similar color scheme always looks good on pictures!
The downside to this, for an outdoor wedding, is if it rains even just a little bit it might get a little messy especially for the bridesmaids. Also, having to wear the same color as your bridesmaids, you might not pop out of the picture that much. Just look at kim kardashian's first wedding. Lol. Everyone looks like a bride.
So here is the mood board we've compiled so far for the theme: the Classic BLACK and WHITE
Striped black and white invites, simple text, classy and elegant.
Bridesmaid dresses will be simple, flowy and white. With green wreaths and probably a touch of black lace in their bouquets
Groomsmen will have the classic black suit with white boutonnieres
Centerpiece will be an assortment of all white flowers with black vases and small black details. I would love a table runner that is stripe, reminiscent of kate spade design.
Some flowers that i love that we can use for the centerpiece and bouquets. I love hydrangeas! Although the kind that grows here usually are in the shade of lavander to purple.
So there you go! Out second mood board, we love this as well. What do you think?
